Edwin Soeryadjaya started his career in 1978 at Astra International, one of Indonesia's largest diversified companies founded by his late father, William Soeryadjaya. He spearheaded Astra’s financial restructuring effort in 1987, which culminated in its public listing on Indonesia Stock Exchange in February 1990. He left as Vice President Director in 1993.
He was awarded the 2010 Indonesia Entrepreneur of The Year by Ernst & Young.
Edwin is currently the Chairman of PT Adaro Energy Tbk, PT Tower Bersama Infrastruktur Tbk, PT Global Kalimantan Makmur, PT Pulau Seroja Jaya and Interra Resources Limited. He also serves on the board of commissioners of PT Lintas Marga Sedaya and PT Mitra Pinashtika Mustika. A longtime proponent of education, he is active in the community through his role as Chairman of the Christian University of Indonesia Foundation (Yayasan Universitas Kristen Indonesia).
Edwin graduated from University of Southern California's School of Business in 1974 and is married with three children.
