Mr. Widjaja is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Singapore listed Golden Agri-Resources Ltd. (“GAR”), an integrated producer of palm-oil based products. GAR operates approximately 450,000 hectares of plantation with over 77,000 employees. It is the largest palm oil producer in Indonesia and second largest in the world.

Mr. Widjaja is likewise Chairman of Singapore listed Sinarmas Land, a property arm of the Sinarmas Group operating mainly through investments in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. He has also held the position of Non-Executive Director in Singapore listed Bund Center Investment, the property arm of Sinarmas Group operating in China. Since April 2007, Mr. Widjaja has been appointed as Chairman of PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk, an Indonesia listed mobile telephone provider in Indonesia. Mr. Widjaja also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Sinarmas Group.

In addition to his active involvement in businesses, he was also selected as Chairman of the Indonesian Palm Oil Board and Advisor of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association since year 2007. He also holds various positions in the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce & Industry as Vice Chairman, Head of Agribusiness Food & Livestock, and for the Supervisory Committees overseeing relations for Japan.

Mr. Widjaja is also actively involved in charity activities and is currently Vice Chairman of Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia, a non profit organization engaged in Social, Medical, Educational and other Charitable services. He is also the Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees of Eka Tjipta Foundation.

Mr. Widjaja was educated in Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan with a Bachelors degree in Commerce. Mr. Widjaja enjoys swimming, jogging, reading, and traveling for leisure.
