Hendrik Susanto is a managing director and a member of the investment committee at Ancora Capital, a leading private equity firm focused on Indonesia. Ancora makes investments in the middle market segment across the natural resources and consumer/consumer-related sectors in Indonesia.
Prior to joining Ancora, Hendrik was Senior Director and Country Head for Indonesia at CapAsia, a Southeast Asia-focused private equity firm with $460 million AUM dedicated to investing in infrastructure. He also was Managing Director at an affiliate of Argyle Street Management, a Hong Kong-based hedge fund focused on special situations and distressed investing. Previously, he was a Principal at GTI Group, a private investment firm investing globally based out of New York, and before that, a Principal at IDG Ventures, a technology venture capital firm, in San Francisco.
Hendrik started his professional career at Goldman Sachs in New York and Singapore, where over five years he served in various roles in the Investment Research Department, Principal Investment Area, and Investment Banking Division.
Born and raised in Indonesia, Hendrik earned a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and a Certificate in Engineering and Management Systems from Princeton University, and an M.B.A. in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
